The oldest and most prestigious tournament in the sport of Tennis is here for another year, Wimbledon starts on Monday the 03rd of July 2017. Wimbledon is unique amongst the Grand Slam Tennis tournaments in that it is the only tournament to still be played on grass. Wimbledon is in fact many tournaments in one with individual trophies for mens singles, ladies singles, mens doubles, ladies doubles and mixed Doubles. The youth tournament includes boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles and girls doubles.

As a English British tennis fan lets hope that after the years of Henman hype the more quiet character of Andy Murray can give us something to cheer again this year, don't we say that every year? Well having been able to celebrate twice in recent history we're all desperate for another Murray win. It doesn't seem that long ago that Andy Murray won Wimbledon and in doing so became the first British mens singles champion since Fred Perry in 1936, can he possibly beat the odds and win another Wimbledon, his season so far doesn't suggest so and a niggling hip injury won't help but strange things happen at Wimbledon. After what has been a disappointing season so far and without any real consistency to his game it may be a struggle but then same could be said of some of the other top players, 2017 has definitely been one of those years where one player alone has not dominated! Federer and Nadal both looking resurgent. Lets hope that with the home fans behind him Murray can rally once again. If not though then all the signs point to one of the usual suspects, Djokovic or Federer with Nadal usually not performing to his best on grass.

Wimbledon starts on Monday the 3rd of July with the last final due to be played on Sunday July 16th. Details of what live Wimbledon tennis is being shown between those dates can be found by looking at the live sports daily schedule page. Between Bet365 and the BBC you'll not have to look hard to find live coverage of every Wimbledon match online. In the UK the BBC have excellent live streaming coverage of a lot of the best games at Wimbledon throughout the day. You can find the BBC Live Wimbledon Streams here. Alternatively the online bookmaker Bet365 will be showing a huge number of Wimbledon matches (all as far as we can see) live online, the streaming quality is top notch and it's all available totally for free, all you need is a fundedBet365 account or to have placed a bet in order to watch!

For those that prefer their sport in person and if you feel like you don't want to miss out on the live action then some Wimbledon tickets are still available, although you'll have to pay a healthy price ;)

This year’s tournament is hard to call, with very little splitting the big four in the Men’s Outright Market. Roger Federer is currently favourite to secure his eight title and is priced at 9/4 (3.25) with bet365. He’ll face fierce competition though from Andy Murray who’s currently 10/3 (4.33), Rafael Nadal at 9/2 (5.50) and Novak Djokovic at 6/1 (7.00). Between them these four have won the last 14 Wimbledon titles, so it would be a big shock for someone outside of them to take the honours this year.

The Women’s Betting is more open than the Men’s; Karolina Pliskova is favourite at 9/2 (5.50) and is followed in the betting by Petra Kvitova at 5/1 (6.00) and Garbine Muguruza at 10/1 (11.00). Kvitova is the only one of that trio to have tasted success here before, triumphing in 2011 and 2014. That 2014 win was her last Grand Slam title though, and Angelique Kerber could be an interesting option at 14/1 (15.00). She was beaten in the final last year by Serena Williams, who is absent from this year’s tournament, and claimed two Grand Slam titles in 2016. Jelena Ostapenko, the unseeded winner of the French Open at the start of this month, is available at 14/1 (15.00).

It’s been 83 years since Britain saw success in the Men’s and Women’s tournaments in the same year, but there’s probably never been a better chance of this happening with Murray second favourite for the Men’s title and Johanna Konta fourth favourite for the Women’s. You may well be interested in the Murray-Konta double at a tempting price of just over 55/1 (56.33)!
